The Nation of Islam (NOI) was founded in the United States in 1930. The values of the Nation of Islam are rooted in Islam and its commitment to the empowerment and upliftment of the African American community.​

   The Nation of Islam emphasizes the importance of self-reliance and economic independence within the African American community.

2. Unity and Community:
   Promoting unity and solidarity among African Americans is a central value. The organization seeks to foster a strong sense of community among its members.

3. Black Empowerment:
   The Nation of Islam advocates for the empowerment and upliftment of the black community, both economically and socially.

4. Justice and Equality:
   The organization has historically spoken out against racial injustice and advocated for equality, justice, and fair treatment for African Americans.

5. Education:
   Education is highly valued, and the Nation of Islam encourages its members to pursue knowledge and understanding.

6. Discipline and Self-Improvement:
   Members are encouraged to lead disciplined lives and to engage in self-improvement, both spiritually and morally.

7. Strong Family Values:
   The Nation of Islam places importance on strong family structures and values, emphasizing the roles of parents and the importance of family stability.

8. Respect for Elders:
   The organization promotes respect for elders and leaders within the community.

9. Separation and Self-Defense:
   Historically, the Nation of Islam has advocated for the separation of races and, at times, the right to self-defense.

10. Islam as a Way of Life:
    Although we are neither assuming a title for Sunni or Shia traditions, the Nation of Islam incorporates Islamic teachings to obey, worship, and appreciate Allah into beliefs and practices.
